Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using MyCareerMate.

1. Introduction & Acceptance

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MyCareerMate platform, operated by Ishaan Manga (ABN 56 700 763 174).

By creating an account or using MyCareerMate, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time with at least 14 days notice for material changes.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use MyCareerMate.
  • By using the platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
  • If using on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.
  • The platform is available globally; we are not responsible for compliance with laws in your local jurisdiction.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notify us immediately at info@mycareermate.io if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • You may only hold one account per person. Multiple accounts may result in permanent suspension.
  • We reserve the right to refuse registration or terminate accounts at our discretion.

4. Free Trial

  • All paid plans include a 3-day free trial.
  • You will not be charged during the trial period.
  • Your plan will automatically begin billing at trial end unless you cancel beforehand.
  • Only one free trial per person. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional trials violates these Terms.

5. Subscription Plans & Billing

5.1 Plans

Paid subscription plans (prices in AUD, exclusive of applicable local taxes):

  • Starter: AUD $9.99/month or AUD $25.47 billed every 3 months (saving 15%)
  • Pro: AUD $19.99/month or AUD $50.97 billed every 3 months (saving 15%)
  • Premium: AUD $39.99/month or AUD $101.97 billed every 3 months (saving 15%)

5.2 Billing

  • Payments are processed in AUD via Stripe and auto-renew each billing period.
  • If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or suspend access to paid features.
  • MyCareerMate is not registered for GST. No GST is charged on our subscriptions.

5.3 Cancellation

  • You may cancel at any time from Settings > Subscription.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund. See our Refund Policy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use MyCareerMate to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other accounts, or backend systems.
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to derive the source code of our platform.
  • Scrape or harvest data from the platform without express written permission.
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
  • Generate content to deceive employers, misrepresent qualifications, or commit fraud.
  • Share your account login credentials with any other person.
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse the free trial, referral programme, or any platform feature.

Violation may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

7. AI-Generated Content

  • MyCareerMate uses AI (powered by OpenAI) to generate resume content, cover letters, interview feedback, and other materials.
  • AI-generated content is a starting point only — not professional career, legal, or recruitment advice.
  • We make no guarantees regarding accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose.
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use.
  • We are not liable for negative outcomes arising from use of AI-generated content.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload. By using the platform, you grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to provide the services to you.

8.2 Our Platform

All intellectual property in the MyCareerMate platform — including software, code, design, branding, logos, and templates — belongs to MyCareerMate or its licensors. You may not copy or reproduce it without our written consent.

8.3 AI-Generated Output

AI-generated content using your inputs is provided for personal, non-commercial use in your own job applications and career development.

9. Third-Party Services

The platform integrates with Stripe, Google, OpenAI, Adzuna, and others. Your use of those integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.

10. Platform Availability

  • We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
  • We may perform maintenance or experience downtime. We will provide advance notice of scheduled maintenance where possible.
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature with reasonable notice.

11. Disclaimers

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.

MyCareerMate does not guarantee that using the platform will result in employment, job interviews, salary improvements, or any other specific career outcome.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyCareerMate's total liability shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 3 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including loss of employment opportunities, data loss, or reliance on AI-generated content.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyCareerMate from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the platform, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third party's rights.

14. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.
  • Termination for cause does not entitle you to a refund.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by applicable laws.

Before formal proceedings, contact us at info@mycareermate.io to resolve disputes informally. We will respond within 14 days.

If unresolved, disputes go to the appropriate courts.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and (if applicable) Referral Programme Terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and MyCareerMate.
