Refund Policy

Please read this policy carefully before subscribing.

1. Overview

This Refund Policy applies to all paid subscriptions purchased through MyCareerMate (operated by Ishaan Manga, ABN 56 700 763 174). All prices are in AUD. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.

2. Free Trial

  • All paid plans (Starter, Pro, and Premium) include a 3-day free trial.
  • Your payment method is collected at sign-up but you will not be charged during the trial period.
  • You may cancel at any time during the trial at no cost via Settings > Subscription.
  • If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan.
  • The free trial is available once per person. Creating additional accounts to obtain further trials violates our Terms & Conditions.

3. Refund Eligibility Window

Refund requests must be submitted within 24 hours of a billing charge being processed. Requests received after this window will not be eligible for a refund, except in the limited circumstances described in Section 7.

To submit a refund request, email us at info@mycareermate.io with:

  • Your account email address
  • The date and amount of the charge
  • A brief reason for the refund request

We will review and respond to your request within 2 business days.

4. Monthly Plans

  • If a refund request is approved within the 24-hour window, the full monthly charge will be refunded and your subscription will be cancelled.
  • No partial or pro-rata refunds are issued for unused days within a billing month.
  • After the 24-hour window, no refunds are available for monthly charges, regardless of usage.

5. 3-Month Plans

  • 3-month plan charges are treated as a single upfront payment.
  • If a refund request is approved within the 24-hour window, the full 3-month charge will be refunded and your subscription will be cancelled.
  • After the 24-hour window, no refunds or pro-rata credits are available for 3-month plans.

6. Cancellation vs. Refund

Cancelling your subscription prevents future renewals but does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period. If you cancel, you retain access to your paid plan features until the end of the current billing period.

To cancel, go to Settings > Subscription > Cancel Plan.

7. Exceptional Circumstances

Outside the standard 24-hour window, refunds may be considered at our sole discretion in the following circumstances:

  • Billing error: you were charged an incorrect amount or charged after a valid cancellation.
  • Technical failure: a verified platform-side error prevented you from accessing the service entirely during the billing period.
  • Duplicate charge: you were charged more than once for the same subscription period.

To raise an exceptional circumstance request, email info@mycareermate.io with supporting details. Our decision is final.

8. How Refunds Are Processed

  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method used at checkout.
  • Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your card issuer or bank.
  • Refunds are issued in AUD.
  • We do not issue refunds via cash, cheque, or alternative payment methods.

9. Chargebacks

We encourage you to contact us at info@mycareermate.io before initiating a chargeback. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in:

  • Immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account
  • Being barred from creating future accounts
  • Referral to our payment processor for fraud review

10. Referral Discounts

If you subscribed using a referral code and received a first-payment discount, the refundable amount is the discounted price you actually paid, not the original undiscounted price.

11. Consumer Law

Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded.
